📝 Event Description
The NativeBio Data Consortium is hosting the final AI-READI & Tribal Sovereignty Conversations on Artificial Intelligence in Research meeting. This public event brings together researchers, tribal leaders, and community members to discuss the intersection of artificial intelligence, data sovereignty, and the rights of Indigenous communities in the context of biomedical research. Topics include interdisciplinary team science, treaty rights, ophthalmological screening for Type 2 diabetes, and data security and human subjects protections in ML/AI research.
This meeting is open to the public. Lunch will be provided.
💡 Our Role / Contribution
Bhavesh Patel will co-present a talk titled "AI-READI Data Security and Human Subjects Protections Challenges in ML/AI" alongside Shannon McWeeney, Ph.D. (Oregon Health & Science University).
